yeah but the article is saying that the pedal could come loose and get stuck and it might cause a crash.
my pedal feels fine, i might have to call up my honda dealership and see what they have to say.
and is it only for the sedans? it said something about the sedans and the 2006 model, but i didnt see any thing about the coupes
damnit just what i need..

There is a relatively low order recall in place, yes.
Most of the vehicles subject to the inspection have not been sold to retail customers, yet, although quite a few of them are on the dealer lots.

Just give your dealer a call with your VIN in hand. It's an easy fix, and most of the cars did not make it into customer hands.

My car is affected... Hopefully, the extent of any "troubles" is small, easily rectified things like this. I never thought of "first year jitters" and Honda to be used in the same sentence, but I becoming a little worried.

Called the local dealer... They said that of the cars they had affected by this, none of them had an issue. Though parts won't be ready until months end, they are welcoming anyone to come in and get it inspected as they know what to look for.
I couldn't find anything wrong, but we'll see Monday.

Sadly, it's beginning to become the truth. I hate to say it, but working at Acura as a tech, you can see the difference in the problems we get for certain models of certain cars. I won't bother going into details, but it is becoming all too apparent, sadly...

Ask any Honda mechanic about US built Accords vs. Japanese built Accords. Sadly, there is indeed a difference in the fit and finish.

My Coupe according to the window sticker has:
* An American built engine
* A Japanese transmission
* Canadian final assembly

My 93 Coupe was Canadian built, and was very reliable. I expect this car to be the same; and if you ask, most of the cars that fell into the recall needed no parts, just an inspection. Besides, it's not the UAW we're talking about here.

new cars that come out always have a problem..but it gets fixed and stuff..it should be for coupes and sedans.it said for 2006 Civics. it didn't say 2006 Civic Sedans or 2006 Civic Coupes..it just said 2006 Civics

Took the car to the dealer, and they said the accelerator assembly was fine... Not sure if they just jiggled it a couple of times and said "OK"; or if they really looked good and hard at everything. I'd like to think the latter, but you know how dealers can be.
