GT35 vs SC61
Sorry to post this, but the search feature seems to be down. Wondering the pros/cons of the sc61 vs the gt35 and how they compare...
on a built/sleeved b18c
-anyone try both?
-pump gas #'s (15-17psi w/9:1 compression)?
-any other additional input?
-is the xtra $ worth it?
thanks for any help in advance

Check out http://www.evans-tuning.com in the dyno charts forum for charts so you can compare the two. I was comparing the two a while back and IIRC the 35R usually had better mid range since it spooled earlier. I believe it spooled about 1000 RPM's sooner then the SC61 and it had about ~100 more HP at mid range RPMs.

About the only place the GT35R doesn't "own" the SC61 is in the price.
SC61 = poor mans GT35R

IMO so is the SC61 with the S cover. Same comp housing a/r, same GT35R comp wheel just no BB. But the SC61 with S housing is priced at $800-$850. I believe that's the same price as the GT35E.

as far as i know the turbos have the same compressor, just a different turbine.
from my experience, the 35r will spool a hair faster, has a ton better throttle response and will make more power than the sc61. i have never used a 35e

Yessir. Both run the 56-trim GT35R compressor wheel. GT35E uses the GT35R turbine wheel, while the SC61 uses a Stage V T3 wheel or a P-trim wheel.
