Mobil 15W-40.....too heavy for B18C engines??
Thats what is used in boxer WRX engines for performance figures.
In europe and japan stock oil is 5w40 for the B18C
Now if you want something abit better run 10w40 because the #'s themselves represent like this: First # is the oil will get no thinner then 10 at cold start, once the engine reaches operating temps measured at 100 degrees C. it will not get any thinner then the last # and the oil will operate at this last figure until the oil loses it breaches the viscosity of the last # meaning it's starting to be burned up as it's no longer able to keep the parts as lubed as before.
15w40-50 is what is normally used when they venture out to sweden or extreme cold temps.
I would suggest 5w40 or 5w50. So your still getting good protection in cold starting conditions and better protection once operating temps have been reached.
