I don't think tokico blues would handle the increased rate and drop in height, without blowing out very soon. Illuminas might fare better, but I don't know enough to say how well. If you only cut 1 coil, you might be ok, but 2 will make the ride very stiff, possibly blow out the shocks, and then it will be bouncy and stiff.

If you had Koni yellows, or another shock that doesnb't have issue with stiff rates and lower ride heights, then cutting coils isn't all that bad, but its not vey good either. And I think cutting 2.5" off is probably way too much. Especially if you have progressive springs, since you'll be cutting the stiffer end and leaving the softer end.

don't do it. save the money to buy springs, you can get springs for $149 such as H&R sport or others. If you cut it, it will bounce like hell, do it right and buy a spring that lowers how much you want.
would you take a drill to your rotors to have "cross drilled rotors" hell no, so why cut springs...do it right, don't cheap out on susp, brakes or tires...

Don't do it. If you want to control body roll, get an anti-roll bar. But a new set of springs will help remedy your soft ride and body roll problems.
terrible idea, good springs aren't that expensive. i know a guy whose brother was killed cause the car he was riding in bottomed out cause the cut springs were to soft for how low the car was. this happend in a fast corner and they lost it.

bad idea. I wont deny it, i did it with my first car and it ended up just costing me more money. I couldn' justify gettin an alignment when i was on cut springs so i ate my tires up. It's just not a good idea. Wait until you can afford to do it right with struts, springs, and a good alignment
i did it with out reading the post about the tokico blues that worried me a bit but i cut about 2 coils and I cut them witha table saw with a metal disc there smooth its been about a week and they settled good. its all good

Well, we'll see how long your shocks last. I know some people run slammed with stock shocks, and they last, and I've known people to blow stock shocks in 2 weeks with only a mild drop, so I guess it depends on many factors, not just height.
Now go get an alignment, because your toe is all messed up from the drop. You'll be burning excess tire until you do. Don't worry about camber and caster, you can't change them without aftermarket parts anyway, but they should be able to correct the toe, either to 0 or factory spec, depending on your preference.

why not spend like $100 tops on some decent used springs? see the sticky at the top of the road racing/autox forum. it will depend a lot on how old and almost dead your stock shocks are right now
