OE 'cause they are cheap and functional.

And I'm a cheap bastard and couldn't justify buying expensive ones when OE works the same.

The aftermarket aluminum LCA is not significantly better than OEM at all, since the weight savings are almost negligible. Most suggest OEM because OEM will give 95% of people exactly what they need out of an LCA; to connect the rear suspension components.
The other 5% might look into aftermarket LCA's due to the use of different bushings designed with performance in mind. Thats where tangible benefits in an aftermarket LCA would be found.

In my opinion the OEM 94+ Acura integra rear LCAs are hands down the best for the EG & EF chassis. Not only are the bushings much stiffer than the civic counterparts, but they also have a special kink designed into them that helps to protect the subframe. This kink provides a stress riser that causes the LCA to fold up in a direct impact, thus transfering much less enegry directly into the subframe. This translates into savings of costly repairs to your subframe in the event you curb your wheels or get hit by some dumbass...

Added insurance for substantially less money... Hmmm

The Integra LCAs (as well as the 4dr 92-95 Civics), have the kink in them in order to locate the swaybar, it has nothing to do with crash protection.
