Default Billiards@Thanksgiving Meat?

Dudes, as some of you may know, the place that Nishant is holding the meet has some pool tables. The tables are pretty nice, and most importantly, the cues are straight. Oh, and I'm pretty sure the ***** are free

Is there any interest in some sort of organized competition or small $ games? I play once in a while and really enjoy it, and I'm sure it will give us something to do after we all get done swapping screen names and discussing the forum.

We can do cut-throat, 8-ball, 9-ball, doesn't matter to me. Any other players (serious or otherwise) interested? I'm going to bring my cue regardless, but I wanted to see if we'll have a bunch of sharks lurking at the meet or something.

It's actually pretty simple.

Pool is a game that is best played while one is relaxed. Alcohol helps loosen one's mind and body up. Unless I sit there and meditate in the pool hall (not gonna happen), I am best after 1.5-2 quick drinks. Any more than that, and things like my balance start to get affected.

But if you've got a little buzz going, you're going to be a lot more relaxed, and a lot more willing to take certain shots without worrying about whether you're going to make it or not.

I am sure the pros don't need alcohol to relax and get gutsy...but for casual players like us, it helps a lot.

Very true. if you are naturally cool, calm, and relaxed, probably not a need for a few drinks. But it helps us high strung peoples

1 - 3 has proved to help me in the past.

More has proven otherwise.

Too bad I can't make it, I'da had to pull out the Viking stick. Haven't played in awhile but in the past I used to play 5 to 7 days a week. I'm sure I am rusty as Hell now.
