Default INtermittent power loss

89 Civic DX with d16a6 swap

Recently the car has been loosing power for short bits. I'll hit the gas, it will accelerate then suddenly dive (fraction of a sec) and keep accelerating.

The other day, the engine actually stalled as I put the car into neutral.

I can only describe it as the same feeling as you get when you're really low on fuel and you turn a corner fast and the engine dies for a second due to loss of fuel.

My problem is, my tank is fuel when this happens.

Any clues?

Well it got worse...the engine completely died out 3 times today for about 1-2 seconds a time.

The interesting thing is that the tach went dead when the engine stalled.

I'm starting to think it's the ignitor
