whoever told you that is a retard.... a b20 is basically nothing but a bored out ls with a slightly different sleeve design... if you get either block sleeved then they are basically the same. except that the b20 block doesnt have the port for the pcv black box in the back.
either block will work... they are the same thing. its really up to you... being able to say b20vtec or ls/vtec. i personally have a darton mid sleeved b18a1 block... about 2.1liters

ight but if u sleeve the ls block and then u sleeve the b20 block anit the ls block walls thicker then the b20 so would it be better if u sleeved the ls block since the walls or better or no?
Same sleeves in both (for the most part) the b20 is just bored to 84mm and if you are any smog crazy state like CA don't do the B20 its consider a light truck motor therfore is impossible to let cops let it slide
Look for some pictures of the sleeving process, they remove a lot of the stock sleeve before inserting the iron sleeves. Sleeve the ls, leave it with the stock bore and call it a day. You can make a lot of power on a stock bored iron sleeved block. You will also have a lot of rebuilds left in it if you need to do so in the future. GL.

um no.... if both blocks are sleeved to the same bore then the sleeves are the same thickness.

i brought my ride to a state ref and they smogged it without a problem. they said that cops can't really do **** because it's considered a "motor replacement".. i live in cali by the way.
how much are you able to boost on a stock b20? i also heard that it's recommended to resleeve the motor due to it being so thin..

apparently you cant read... he was talking about stock sleeves.... it doesnt matter which block you get to sleeve... they are BOTH THE SAME
and apparently u cant read i said i would be sleeving either block wit aebs sleeves and i said im just gonna sleeve the b20 block wit aebs sleeves so thanx anyways
The b20 has a GSR oil pump while the LS has a LS oil pump. The GSR is obvously better. However a NEW ITR pump is $100 from prostreetonline....so not really an issue..
