is it slipping or just plain not engaging, your cable could be binding up. or it could be like mine, I aparently have an oil leak somewhere in the vacinity of my clutch, if i run the engine over 5000 rpm, it starts leaking, and the clutch starts slipping. If I take it easy for a while, the oil burns off and it starts working fine again. I'm just gonna drive it like a grandma 'tll I do a swap.

Loosen the cable. There should be some freeplay in the pedal.
