in my oppinion, totally not worth it. first of all, its from Ebay, 2nd, its already an ls-v swapped. you never know the history of it. i dont think its reliable. 3rd. its only a shortblock and he charge u that much!! you dont even have tranny, 4th, why run a chipped p28 on a gsr head with the dual stage mani?? it will run like ****. and finally, how would you know that this lsv swap is legit? lsv are only reliable if done right. most people does lsv run into problems.
on the other hand.... if the motor is fine, you should get a p72 to activate them butterflies or change your manifold for that p28 and get a b16 or gsr tranny with b16 or ctr pistons.

im sorry but did you even read the add.... its fuckign oem 500 miles.. 500 miles.. tats it.. not a rebuild or anything.. consider the price of a gsr head with say... 40 k on it.. and a bottom end with like wise.. i got ripped off?.. honda tech prices seem a little off then.

and thats exacly why i was asking wat i should change.. i showed you wat i bought.. not wat im going to use.

exactly.. really.... how do u know its only got 500 miles on it?

second, why would you want to rebuild a perfectly NEW motor? you just wasted your money, you should have built one from scratch yourself.

put some ITR pistons in there. what pistons are in there now? still.. putting new pistons in, is rebuilding the engine.. you gotta take it all apart..

Block code scratched off...so this is prolly not an LS vtec. Who knows though, we'll see what you get...i'm excited for you and hoping it works out for the best...and as for your question. Not gonna really know what to change till you get it =/ You dont know how the dude (or girl) built this motor...who knows if it really IS a certified mechanic. Anyway, we'll see...you should post pics and stuff of your swap...i hope it works out for ya.

Where was the seller located?

I bet the only reason that the block code was scartched off like that was because he was in California, and that way cops couldn't tell if it was an LS/VTEC or just a regular vtec motor that actually belonged in the car.

i dont see any reason for flaming the guy.
He got the dough, he bought the motor, so what?

reliabiliy is not the issue here because you have the motor out and sitting infront of you with all the goodies on it- block and the oh so almighty "vtec" head. You have the choice to crack it open and build it your own way so YOU know its reliable.
i would recommend upgrading to stronger rods and piston.
Word of advice, you would probably get more recommendation in the allmotor forums.

That guy has been trying to sell that motor for the longest time. Personaly i woud nevre buy a mot r off of ebay. He cann feed you all kinds of bullshit like it has 500 miles or its sleeved yada yada yada, but how do u know this for sure? U really dont know how many miles are on it and what parts he used for the build, and if he even put the damn thing together right. IMO u should have just built your own. Best of luck to you

Good luck as well. Personally if I was mechanically inclined (not saying you are0 I would've done the same thing just been real sketchy about it. When and where it was built. And ask what some of the clearances are. This way at least you sound like you know what your talking about and if they get jumpy you know something is up

But hope it works out for you.

i got a good mechanic helping me with the piston swap .. so i know we will put it back together right.. finally some nice input.. which pistons should i go for.. as the ebay add stated its all oem parts.. so thats ls pistons.. i think the guys legit.. and their is ways to check how the engine has been cared for.. and whether it has 500 miles or not.. i still dont see how some can post in this thread saying i didnt get a good deal.. seeing as it all had 500 miles.. im still lost...but thanks for the input thus far... critizism is welcome.. but you dont need to call me stupid..../// i have done research.
