A member in Japan (Miraiz) stated that some JDM ITRs did in fact have a badge number; supposedly the 98 Spec Rs produced in 2000 and the few in 2001.

um..that statement doesn't make much sense

do you mean, the ITR's from 00-01 are numberd, or the 98's are

If you didn't know when 98 spec ITRs were produced I guess it could be confusing.

Ok, simply stated the '00-'01s are numbered.

if it was built in 00...it's 00 spec. if it was built in 01...it's 01 spec.

98 spec type R = IT WAS BUILT IN 98

I'm going to disagree.

Yes. Some '98 specs were also built in 1997.

that's just a stupid way of saying it's the same as a 98

why not call it 00 spec? it sounds cooler, and means the same damned thing

It makes perfect sense if you actually use that grey matter between your ears and think about it.

hardly

the 98 spec is the same as 2000 and 2001 JDM ITR's. it makes NO sense to bundle them into "98 Spec"

you don't call a 93 fox "89 Spec"...because that would be dumb. just like calling an 00 ITR "98 Spec"

Perhaps you should notify Honda how "stupid", "ignorant" and "dumb" they are.

I never said the cars had no model year associated with them.

Face it, the specs didn't change for these cars after 98 (which probably refers to the tranny more than much of anything else).

EXACTLY...which makes it pointless to call it 98 spec, considering it's the same form there up

So you're contradicting yourself then?

 Who's not reading what post?

What have we learned? rhd doesn't like the way 98 spec R sounds, so therefore it's pointless.

how so?
i said they were all the same, the whole time. YOU disagreed, if you'll scoot up the page and read.

saying a 98 Spec was built in 98, and 00 spec in 00, and so forth, I'm merely backing up my statement.

you, obviously, have some type of learning disorder or reading comprehension issues. either way, i don't care anymore

He is saying that since the last changes were made in the 98 model year then the ensuing years after would still be to 98 spec henceforth being 98 spec cars regardless of production year. simple as that. we understand that you don't see a point in designating them that way but you have to admit that it is a correct description. If you can't do that then you are just dumb.

I didn't say at any point that the JDM 98 spec ITRs were different between model years. Maybe you can show me where I did, since I have a learning disorder.

Saying a 00 spec was built in 00 "and so forth" is just incorrect. You can back up your own incorrect terminology all day long. That doesn't make it right.

If you don't like what they're called, I don't know what to tell you.

You might want to do more research on a subject before criticizing others based on your lack of knowledge.

Before I actually do go insane, I'll step off this merry-go-round now.
