Default 92 civic frnt. sway bar problem.

hey dudes! i just got a 92 civic si with a b16 swap in it. its got h&r race springs and tokiko illuminas. at first when i bought it, the front end was knocking like crazy i thought for sure it was a ball joint. so i put it up on our hoist at my shop and my upper skunk2 ball joint was loose. i finally got a replacement and installed it. and the knock was still there. so we finally figured it out. it is the front sway bar hitting against the subframe. would that have to do with the fact that it has been lowered?? what should i do in this case.

sway bar could be bent, subframe could be out of place or bent.

which part is hitting?

the sway bar is hitting on a part of the subframe in the middle by the exhaust

The sway bar should clear just fine. I'm lowered almost 3" with no knocking problem on my 24mm OEM bar. I'm guessing you should replace your swaybar bushings with new OEM ones. It could still be a bent sway-bar or miss-aligned subframe though...

94eg,
not saying you cant, but how do you align your subframe.

i have a 2000 ex and i though it only have 4 large bolts that held it up. is there an adjustment somewhere.

platinum.

Well, I'm not really sure how much it can move. I'm guessing no more than a millimeter. Basically you would loosent the bolts & give it a shove. I'm not really sure how effective this could be though. I've never had to worry about it before...
