when it is cold outside my idle bounces between 1500 and 2000. especially when it is not warmed up. otherwise it will sit at about 500 and bounce just slightly every 20 seconds.....it is an a6/z6 mini me converted to obd-1 running uberdata with DSM 450's.....my ideas are a vaccuum leak....possibly at the injecotors or the intake manifold but since it only does this when cold I am thinkin probably not. could it be the FITV? thanx

I have seen this a few times it could be the IACV

 

Or tps some will tell you, but imo i recently found out that if it's only when cold it's probally you're CTS "coolant temp sensor".

 

coolant temp sensor....that is in the head right? I am about 90 percent sure that it isn't that since it did this before I swapped to the z6 head...and I used all the sensors from the z6 head.....so I am pretty sure it is something on the intake mani....car throws a code 9.....I dunno if this has anything to do with my idle...since it kinda did it before I did my mini-me

 

Well thanks for telling us that Now, maybe you will figure it out someday, lol. Just mess with you're manifold, idle screw on TB and iacv, and TPS, it's gotta be one of those three.
