My 92 accord EX needs a new ICU board. Are there other models that will work for this model honda?
Does anyone happen to have a spare ICU laying around?

 

Why does it need a new ICU?

 

Look at the actual ICU and give us a part number. Lot more easy to cross-reference with a part number

 

I need a new ICU because it shows the typical symptoms....no interior light, no rear defrost, no intermittent wipers..the usual stuff associated with a bad ICU
The part number is 38600-SM4-A01
I also read online somewhere that these can be repaired. I'm told that it's because of sub-standard capacitors.
I really don't want to pay $214 from Honda for a new one. I was hoping somone one here maybe had one from a junked car or an extra on that they would be interested in selling cheap.

Other than that, a junk yard is your best bet

 

Has anyone sucessfully repaired one one? If I go to the junkyard, does it have to be from an accord EX?
