Default just picked up 88 crx si

just picked up a CRX si...i'm gonna use it for commuting and daily driving...but i also want a few mods...first thing first i need to fix the shifter...very loose, and hard to shift into gears...is it the bushings that i need to replace? i can get them for honda correct?

i'm looking at lowering the car...do not need the best setup but something cheap and good....so waht do u guys recommend?

the temp gauge also doesn't work....i know it could be sending unit...or the needle..previous owner said its the needle...so to take off the gauge cluster..do i just replace the needle or just mess around with it ?

the temperature swithc..the **** that turns it hot or cold is broken...do i have to take the center console off to get to it? and can i just fix the swithc or have to replace that whole center piece?

thanks for any opinions u might have...this is the first honda i own...i've owned all toyota before so help me out...THANKS

anyone with the parts that i need to fix hit me up thanks

You will want to get Energy suspension shifter bushings and replace them, you also might want to goto http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ and replace any more bushings and or rubber that is a component of the shifter & linkage.

loweing the car isnt going to be cheap unless you do it WRONG. The correct way to lower your car is to get :

1. Lowering springs (H&R makes good springs for cheap)
2. New shocks designed for lowered cars, KYB AGX are cheap and pretty good shocks for the money,
3. A Camber kit, You dont NEED one, but getting one will save you from wearing your tires out within a few thousand miles
4. New shock bushings, and bumpstops, once again, check http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ for your replacement parts

When it comes to lowering your car it is best to save your $ and do it right, or dont do it at all.

the temp gauge, it could be the sender, or the gauge cluster itself. You will not replace the needle, Honda clusters dont work that way. you will need another cluster, or an aftermarket temp gauge.

you can buy a new heater **** for $4.39 from majestic Honda. I believe the old **** will just pull off and you push the new one on.

Hope I was of some help..

ok guys i need some opinions please

also...today i fixed a few problems....i adjusted the clutch so it feels better at the catch point...changed oil, spark plugs and everything...i look at the sending unit itself..the wire to it was unplugged....i plugged it back up and drove around....went up to half way..so i was like sweet it works...got home parked....left it running i shut it off. then start it back up ...temp gauge spikes up to HOT above...it tops off...i quickly turn it off. i go look at the engine bay...overlfow tank is not boiling...temp seems normal...how would i know if the car is overheating?
