Default i did a search for launching but........

anyone got any tips on launching a D16 ZC EF civic or is it a "one size fits all" kind of situation??

i had a little practice on a local industrial estate( i know the conditions are alot different),i pre-loaded the clutch, revved to 3000 rpm, lets the E-brake go and........oh,she bogged down like, well, like a slow *** car really!! i persume after that attempt that 3000 rpm is a little too light for a launch, please, any help will be much appreciated as i am due on the strip in january and dont want to look stupid!!

go to search..archived content...in drag racing section

i didnt think pre-loading was necessary for NA cars...especially if your just going to the track once...

My friend can launch at 3k RPM, but I have to launch at 5k or 6k RPM to get a good launch. Anything under that and it almost stalls.

I can say that a good clutch really helps. If you were to go with something along the lines of a race clucth, they let you hold a higher RPM and take the abuse of heat., where others would glaze over and be done. Being able to keep it in that sweet spot for launch is well worth the money. Do not get me wrong... any clutch can fry when abused too hard though.

When I had my stock clutch, dumping it at 3 would do the job, since it wasn't able to spin my tires anyways, but ever since I got my stage 2, 6 grand is where its at for me.
