Default Question about rims to use with slicks I just bought

I bought some brand new M/T Slicks for 14 inch rims but the thing is that they are 8 inches wide and the average 14 inch rim is only 5 inches including the 14's I have on my EG hatch. I was wondering what size rim could I use to mount my slicks on. I was told I could probably get away with 6 or 6.5 inch wide rims. Not exactly sure tho. Thanks in advance for any info or pics

The tires are 20.0X8inch wideX14 inch

I wouldn't know cause I work at a dealership and a few of the techs I work with told me that a 5 inch wide rim wouldn't be wide enough for an 8 inch wide slick.

Also did you put that slick on a honda cause I was also told to worry about the tire clearing the strut and hope that it doesn't rub.

Mickey Thompson recommends a 6"+ wheel. I ran 20x8 on 14x6 Miata wheels before. My local Pep Boys have "ricey" looking 6-spoke 14x6's you can look into if you have any around there.

I've seen lots of people run them on old 5-spoke 14x6 Eagle wheels. If you want 14x7's http://good-win-racing.com has a Team Dynamics wheel that will clear up Integra-sized brakes.

The clearance was fine on my Integra, but then again my car isn't dropped much.

Thats good to know thanks for info. I was oringinally trying to get the slicks put on for Street Wars in Englishtown on Sunday but I found out for that event everyone has to use street tires so I will try to find some rims by this Friday for test and tune.
