Default 2004 Civic tach installation???

I have a 2004 Civic Value Package and I hooked up my tach to the dead wire where I've hooked up all my other tachs to, and its giving me a wrong reading (way too high) does anyone know how to hook it up? My car is the 1.7L w/ 4 different coils.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah the wires are cut and set to a 4 cyl. Thanks i'll try!!!!

My buddy actually hooked it up for me and he's used to older civics and crx's do u know
where the comp is? Is it under the dash?

That is the wire that I hooked it up to and it reads high. I went to auto-meters website and looked up the FAQ's and it said I have to check the ground and power, because if they are not hooked up perfect they will give a high reading and thats whats goin on. I have to check it with a volt meter and if its less than 12 volts then its the ground/ power wire or both is not done fully.

Did you set the tach for 4 cylinders?

The tach wire is a blue wire in the E connecctor plug to the ECU
