rear brakes accord '95 LX
'95 Accord LX sedan, 100,000 miles.
problem: when i brake at >50mph the brakes pulsate (pretty intensive) and the whole car is shaking. This doesnt happen at <40mph. So i took it to the mechanic, verdict: rear brakes need to be resurfaced or replaced. Quote: ~70$ resurface them or $140 to replace. Is this reasonable? Would it be cheaper to buy rear brakes myself and pay someone to install them?
Thanks.
EDIT:
I found BREMBO Rear Brake Disc
95-98 (2.2ltr) for 67.78 shipped to Boston, MA (for 2); this is after discount. Good deal?
also found these: http://catimages2.sophio.com/w...5.jpg OPPARTS for $59 shipped (for 2)
I guess i'll buy rear discs, and pay someone to replace them. Which one should i go with?

if you have enough meat left on the rear discs take it to meineke, they have a machine that will turn/resurface the discs on the car as opposed to having to take them off, i got mine done for 10 bucks a side
if you don't have enough meat left just buy some midgrade autozone discs(50-60bucks) and do the job yourself, its one of the easiest things to do, just buy a haynes manual and a little socket set and your good to go

If you REALLY want to soil your shorts; consider this.
The DX, the lowly poor second cousin (twice removed) from just about every other Accord out there, the one with manual window cranks, no AC, lacking any creature comforts WHAT-SO-EVER, could be ordered with ABS!!
No! You say.
But Yes!! It's True!
The DX... Who would'a thought
