Default opinion: should i keep my 94dx or buy a 95ex?

my car...i love my car. 94 dx coupe, has about 170xxx miles, and still runs awesome, aside from my starting problem that i could probably fix. i've decided that instead of buying the next model civic, i'd rather build up an eg. i love the body style and i've never seen a nice eg1 in st. louis. i've considered instead of getting a 95ex i could just swap in a b16 when this engine starts getting on its last days, but then i would have to do a power window/lock conversion (i'm not worried about mirrors), i plan on repainting the whole car (haven't decided on a color, considering yellow although i looove white).

basically...what would you ht users reccomend? buying a newer ex or just engine and door swapping this one? i know engine swapping will be a huge pain in the *** unless i shell out some dough to have someone else do it for me. i'm just learning and i don't know how i would go about finding out how to swap my engine.

I would personally always pick the DX over the EX for several reasons. It has the black interior, sunroof, power options (sure, you can swap them over to a DX but these already have them out of the box).

I understand you want to swap a b16 into it, but the EX comes with a decent motor to start. It has a better intake manifold and it has an option of front/rear disc brakes.

I'd go with the EX.

This upgrade is not worth swapping cars over. Mod you lighter chassis.

Despite the DX is lighter, I've always liked the extras that the EX has.

That's great, let's keep it on topic.

In the end, it's all going to come down to personal choice. Both cars have pros and cons, you need to think which car you would like to be driving in the long run.

Same here For a DD that is. If I was going to make a race car or didnt care about daily driving comfort/convenience then I would get the lightest thing I could.

Exactly. I don't drive my Civic everyday, but when I do I like to have the extras that my other car doesn't.

well i drive this thing daily. i would love to have a sunroof, i forgot about that...and i like the grey interior, but black would be so much sweeter. i'm gonna go with the ex though, because i'm not worried about having the fastest car, just a quick car that's nice, inside and out. also i think my rear drums are grinding, and i want rear discs. i hate drums, because i don't know how to change them.

My EX doesnt have rear disks.... I dont have ABS so I guess that is why. Im sure it has been covered before about which years and trims and ABS options have disks or not. So keep that in mind.

EX or DX. Who cares? Dude it is your car, do what you want. I personally would keep the DX for the sake of saving myself the trouble of selling it and finding an EX. You can always swap the motor and both trims, essentially, look the same from the exterior. There's my $.02 but do what you want. You are the only one who knows exactly what car you want and what you want to do with the car. Whatever you do, though, be sure you do your homework.

ex is your want to just cruise around, have a sunroof, power options, better interior, better motor,

dx if you want basic model car, with 102 hp, althought lighter,

I would choose take the ex and swap at least a B18C1 in it, and maybe get some rims, good susp, tint the windows, amp/subs/ and a Alarm, and have a good DD,

Keep the DX and swap in everything from the EX, except the sunroof. Your car looks clean and not tampered with, so why get an EX where you have no idea where its been.

The biggest thing that would sway me from one car to another is color. If you like the EX then get it.
