Trade my 97 for a 98?
Ok A friend of a friend wants to trade his 98 ITR with a jdm front end for my 97. His car has no motor in it but he said I could keep my motor, JDM wheels and my teins. So if we were to trade he would have a stock 97 with no motor. He says he just wants a 97 really bad. Just want your guys input. Is a 97 so much more desired than a 98?

Again, depends on who you ask. The 97' model is getting harder and harder to find especially in a good untouched / virgin condition. I would hold onto it if I were you.

I think that's a personal question only you can answer. Sounds like alot of unnecessary work to me to be swapping engines for the sake of having a different front end.

Sound to me that you both don't care much about the original condition of the cars. I would suggest you two swap the front/rear bumpers, head lights/signal lights and call it the day.
Yeah it would be a big hassle swapping the motor and suspension just for the front end. Im not really interested I was just curious as to why he would want my 97 so bad, maybe there is something I dont know about the 97.

It's got an extra VTEC reservoir.
Maybe his car's got a salvage title and he wants a clean title car. How about just asking him why he wants it so bad?

I would not trade him. It's easy to find a JDM front. Would this be the only reason you'd do it? Remember, the '97's were the first year of the ITR in the U.S., and they only made 500 of them. How many of those 500 actually exist at this point? Maybe a little over 300. They made 1,500 in '98 if I remember right. So, right there, you have a car that is more rare than his. Keep your '97 and save up to buy the JDM front.
I'm hella mad at myself for selling my '97 R

Depending on your state it may be illegal to install an older motor into a car (installing the engine from your '97 into his '98).
Besides that, the whole thing sounds silly IMO. Keep your '97 original - and yours.

Well, you already have all the stuff you need for a VERY Beautiful R, don't need to trade bro, I'd strongly suggest you keep the 97

While your at it...tell us what number it is. Mine is #122. If I can remember, I think Marshals was pretty darn close to mine.
Keep the 97! Don't give in to the JDM front end hotness.
