Default h22a in a civic hatch

i was wondering if the weight of a h22a would make a civic hatch to front heavy. i was looking at swaping in a h22a or a b18c1 if the h22a's going to cause my car to be front heavey then i'll go with a b18c1. also my car's a 92 civic hatch, cx. thanks, steve

affirmative, my friend put a h22a in his civic hatchback i think its a 93. and yes it made the front heavy so he had to upgrade to a GSRs suspension to handle the wieght issue. but other than that it takes off pretty nice. but if id go with the b18c1, thats just my opionon.

if you like just drag , then h22 is excellent .but if you want and all around car (drag and auto x) then go with the b18c1 motor , plus if you get use to the performance on the b18c1(which you will ) there tons of up grades that you could do !

why do we always argue.... we should hate on the Rustang and CamarHoe drivers- not our fellow Jap fans- just an idea- we are here to help not tell people we will beat there *** when we will never ever meet them-

damn guys lets stay with the subjuect. i wouldnt go h22 i think its gonna be too heavy. I got a b-series and still take out h22s in a hatch. h22 wasnt meant for the car.

putting an h22 in a hatch is like putting a vr6 in an A2 VW your gonna have to upgrade the suspension big time to make it handle better.

if your not planning on doing a motor swap right, don't bother asking what swap you should do.. if your going to do an h22a, plan on spending more then the price of a motor

the only thing you'd really need for the suspension would be stiffer front springs to deal with the extra weight of the motor. The H series motors aren't THAT much heavier than the b series, the diff is between 100-200 lbs. Obvioulsy that is alot when the car only weight about 2300. Still you'll have the power, it will just have a high weight bias towards the front. Maybe move the battery to the rear, but that will only give a delta of 5 pounds or so.
