Default A question to type r owners

I just did a tranny swap from a gsr to a type r tranny with exedy flywheel and clutch. The used transmission i installed is just not smooth. When I shift into gear it does not go straight in it kind of stops right before then I push harder and it goes in, u know what I mean? Is this normal?

no it is not normal.

go to the local GM Car dealer lot. And buy some "GM Synchromesh"

its good stuff that stops hard grinds and such.

you may want to check your pressure plate... or the springs in hub of the clutch... I had the same issues and thats what went wrong with mine... however every situation is different..

just a heads up in case it helps you.

Agreed. Drop the tranny and inspect the clutch. Since the original poster made no mention of grinds, or mention of it being an issue shifting into one specific gear, I really dont think its the syncro's.
