Default Summit Turbo Muffler anyone?

I'm going to a 3" and I want it to be fairly quiet. I know 3" isn't quiet but I'd like to keep it from allerting all the cops in the area when I hit the gas. I was looking the mufflers on summit anyone have any experience with the summit brand mufflers? Here's a part number SUM-630230

I don't know what they mean by turbo style. I'd call and ask if it's straight-through and/or packed with fiberglass. What I do know is 2 of their resonators sounds pretty good. Before when I had money to burn, I was planning on a summit resonator and a dynomax 3" straight-through w/packing.

FYI my buddy has a boosted b16 running just a downpipe to the firewall - accellerates next to cops w/o them minding much. Although he does drive slow

I have 2.5 Magnaflow on mine and it sounds nice-not too loud. I had the entire exhaust replaced last year when the cat plugged up. a local shop installed it from the header back and it has been fine.

By the way, a "turbo" muffler may be refering to the old school stuff and probably is not actually made for real high performance stuff. Mostly just better than stock replacements. I have summit turbo mufflers on the 4x4 listed in my signature and they are fine for a normally aspirated big block. I would not put them on my Integra as I would prefer more performance oriented stuff.

You can get some good stuff by going outside of the import scene and usually at considerably cheaper prices...I would do some research and go from there. I chose Magnaflow because their cats and mufflers are some of the least restrictive on the market and I got an entire setup custom made and installed for what some people pay for some name brand "fart-can". just my two cents.

I went from a magnaflow 3 inch to a dynomax super turbo i think...its also 3 inch but its chambered. It quieted down a good bit and I didn't really feel a loss of power.

Thanks for replies guys. To BlueSI2k you didn't see much power loss with the super turbo but it did quiet down quit a bit? Anyone else use this muffler?
