Default Changing oil pan gasket in 1995 honda civic

I have a 95 civic LX, automatic transmission, and recently i noticed a decent amount of lost oil. I put the car on ramps, and there was alot of oil on the outside of the pan, obviously leaking out from the gasket. It looks pretty straight forward, remove the exhaust pipe that blocks the pan, and then unbolt the thing. The question i have is this. Part of the pan goes behind the tranny. How do i access those bolts? Do i have to drop out the tranny? Ive never done this before and my chiltons is MIA.

I know on the 96-00's there is a plate that attaches/covers the flywheel and that has to come off to access the remaining 4-5 bolts on the oil pan (this is for a y8 btw).

Maybe someone else could chime in but it should be pretty straight forward.
