Default Torquing Pressure Plate Bolts

Sup guys,

I was wondering if it's possible to torque down the pressure plate bolts from the starter hole on a D-series motor. What you guys think?

I remember seeing the bolts through the hole I just don't remember if a socket wrench will fit in there or if the bolts were way too low to be torqued. I wanna tighten down the pressure plate a little more and was wondering if I could do it without dropping the tranny.

Writing this, just remember about the flywheel cover on the bottom of the motor. Are the bolts accessible from there? I can't remember seeing them and wanna know if you could.

Thanks!

You may be able to reach them. Keep in mind the torque sequence if you are able to do it. Dont just go down the line.

i dont think you can get to them from the starter hole.... unless you have like a 90 degree swivel or something

you dont need to torque anything when i put mine on i just used the impact gun and slammed those suckers on, but yes u can get the swivel sockets to maybe fit in there i just dont think that will still be able to reach all the way because the space is so little

i dont think so because of the location of the pp. even though you take off the starter, a socket wont be able to grab the bolt. you might try using a combination wrench [12pt side of coruse]. or even an offset wrench

my intentions are to tighten those bolts and not torque them per se.. the 12pt with a bent handle just might work and i think it will

thanks guys! i'm taking out the starter today

You could tighten them but to get a correct torque you cant because of the lose in torque due to extentions.

Yeah.. If I could only fit the extensions in there that would be no problem I could always increase the torque with an extension in order to torque it in proximity. I just want to tighten the bolts and not torque them at this point.
