Default Import shootout at Capital Raceway

JUst was wondering who would be interested in A NEW IMPORT RACE AT CAPITAL RACEWAY. I know in the past that it has not been all that great, Would like to talk to Kim at Capital and see if we can make it a good one for next year?? Any thought or suggestions??? Import Vs Domestic or just a all out import race ? I know it is not going to be untill next year but I think if we get some good ideas and ways to improve the turn out I think we can make it better for every year to come

Not to mention the amount of theft and vandalization that goes on there .

That is what really stinks about capital is that there could so much potential but the track owner dont care, they just want to collect the money and not reinvest in the track for improvement I just wish they would because it would be cool to have another event like the one at MIR

i would like to see one there. yeah the track sucks but it would be great for all the racers in the area. i have never had no trouble with theft. the thing is when thay have it no one knows. shitty track would keep all the big dogs out thought....i like to have the thought in the back of my head that i might have a chance to win. t4 and sfwd are going to be sick. if you not going into the 9s its going to be tough to win.

That is my thought as well!! The track is not as good as most but it would be cool to have a good event with good size turn out there, but the only problem is that most people that dont live locally will only go there once and never come back. It just amazes me that the owners dont relaize what they are missing out on

they make enough on test and tune in 1 month to redo the whole track. joe it was nice to meet you for a breef second this weekend. im still have minor problems with the car. i have way way to much crank case pressure. on the dyno its great but as soon as the car has a load on it just sucks. i like the track cause it 20min from me thats all. mir is 30min from you. hard having a family. i think theres enough room for something decent.

yea man good meeting you too.....hope to see you at more of the races. i welded a few bungs on my valvecover and it helped a ton with crank case problems. ever get the numbers straightened out? did you have your car at the track?

Theres a reason its nicknamed Crapital. Most people don't go there becuase the same crap happens every week, bunch of crappy cars that can't get threw tech anywhere else so thwy run thier and breack and oil down the track so you get 2-3 runs in 6 hours of being there. They have to come up with some big money for payouts to get a decent competive turnout.

actually if you guys ever went there on saturday mornings, the track is pretty good. weve cut a few 1.3's up there. but yes a fri night deal is usually worthless to try.

I agree with that ,saturday is the day to go you can usaully test & tune until like 3-4pm and they actually prep the track.

They should have A event there, in the past they always had the events scheduled the sameday as another bigger import event so the turn out always sucked and payouts where cut in half because of that. They need some better planning and the turn out would be alot better.

Joe come on now.. I have ran 9.7's at capitol, yeah it is a hand full but the track is right out side of d.c. and if you can get down that track you can get down anywhere . Saturdays are by far better prepped though

Well if we can get enough people that would be interested in giving the track another try I would be willing to talk to Kim and try to plan a event on a day that would be good!! I know that the track does have some flaws but hey have cars that go in the 7.00 on Friday night when they run the 10 inch tire class. But I think that if we can get a good turn out there then we could make in a annual event
