I searched and didn't find too much information on this other than its a common problem. The dealer wanted to sell me a side for $18. Can't I fix it with just a simple bolt?

i think it's welded on on the backside behind the fender. you might have to pound it out. then u can buy a new bolt and put it in, or have it welded in again.

The dealer said I had to purchase the whole "assembly" for that side for the car for $18. I'm not sure if he had the right part in mind because I asked over the phone. Doesn't Honda just sell the studs by themselves?

 

yeah. my friend bought 4 for his EH (holes are predrilled in EHs but come with no studs).

 

Damnit, I knew I was right. Oh well, time to make a stop down there to show them in person. The archived threads said they could be purchased individually too.
