Those of you who use water instead of seafoam
for those of you who use water instead of seafoam, how do you apply it?
do you do it the same way (through the brake booster?) or another method, like spraying directly into the TB
i searched but all i could find was people saying "i use water" and nothing else

Neither have I, does not sound like like a good idea or one that would work.

ok, i did it the way you use seafoam.
basically it steam cleans the engine. and it put out smoke like crazy just like what happens when you use seafoam.
so never mind

you could hydrolock it with seafoam too. gotta use the same method as that.
put seafoam or water in cup, take off brake booster and hold the hose just barely above the water or seafoam, then someone holds ur rpms to 3000 and it sucks it up little by little.
either way, i answered my own question by going ahead and doing it, it appeared to work the same

you will not hydro lock your motor with a little bit of seafoam. Now if you pour the entire bottle in the Intake and start the car then that could be a problem. but just gradually put it in then you will be fine.
BTW ive never heard of this meathod by using water

No you sure couldn't. If you're pouring something into the brake booster line and you pour too much, the engine will stall long before it fills a cylinder with enough liquid to damage anything. I guess - in theory - you could hydrolock it with Seafoam if you filled a 10-gallon pail with Seafoam and stuck your intake into it, but then that would make you too stupid to breathe, and you'd probably "stall" long before damaging the engine.

It's pretty common practice if you want to steam the inside of your engine and loosen up some nasty **** that might be in the intake manifold. Smart people use a spray bottle and mist bursts of water (you can add some simple green to it if you'd like, but I wouldn't suggest any more than about 10%) into the TB rather than risking a full cup or bucket of water anywhere near an intake port.
To those I have offended: deal with it.

i just used 8 oz of water.
and what you said about not being able to hydrolock with seafoam...in theory..blah blah.
you are correct, the car will stall if using the brake booster before it hydro locks (when i first did this that happened to me)

im not saying it works as well, but when water gets hot it turns to steam, and steam can be used to clean stuff.

you realize it takes more than a second for water to go from liquid state to a gas and you motor will never run hot enuf to do that in a second and i belive water boils around 200 degrees depending where you are and boiling is far beyond that so no your not steaming cleanbing you engine
secondly gas and oil repel water and oil is on the cylinder walls which would keep water off them and from cleaning them

how bout you try it and make a video dip ****.
if it doesnt work, then why, when i did it, was smoke coming out of the tailpipe just like seafoam?
and sure overall engine temp doesnt get that hot, but im pretty sure it gets hot enough in the combustion chambers to be hot enough to turn water to steam.

its a greyish whitish color.
and no my car never puts out that color smoke only when using seafoam, and now this method.
its just the Carbon burning off

lol, i just quoted the message i got when i got my post deleted.
someone said vtech...so i threw in a photochopped Vtech phone in my engine bay, bad idea i guess.
btw Vtech also makes kids learning toys, found that out at my new job at target

Our preferred method of using Seafoam at our shop is by first pouring the entire bottle contents of Seafoam into a clear spray bottle. Then, fill the other half of the bottle with distilled water. Give it a few shakes, then begin spraying the mist into the throttle body inlet while holding the rpms at about 2,500 rpms. Do this until the bottle becomes empty. Shut off your engine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Start your engine and let it idle for 2-3 minutes. Take it down the street and rip through the gears. Smoke will be quite noticeable for the first 5-10 minutes.
Learned this back in high school at my automotive shop class. Wouldnt do it any other way

a mix sounds like a pretty good idea, but imagine the gas wasted trying to spray a whole bottle into the TB, how big is this so called bottle
