Default B18c1 install on wiring harness off a b16a2...

I'm aware of the fact that this is for only hybrid set ups. I'm sure the hybrid crew knows the answer to this question though, might as well place it here.

So i own a 2000 SI, and obviously the wiring harness is for a b16a2. We are currently dropping in a GSR engine. I heard tthe wiring harness had to be modified in order to do this. What needs to be modified?

Thanks

It does if you are planning on keeping it OBDIIb. 94/95 B18c1's don't have crank position sensor down by the lower timing belt gear. If you are planning on keeping the GSR intake mani then you will have to move a few sensor plugs, and you will have to wire up the IAB to control the secondary butterflies. If you have a OBDI B18 then you will need to use your injectors (OBD I plugs are different), and the GSR FPR. Also your dist plug will be different as to which OBD. I would get a different manifold like a S2 etc... Also if you have a pre 98 (I beleive) your exhaust won't fit. The down pipe on the pre 98's are very short.

If you use the GSR intake manifold then you gotta wire up the secondaries by hand. You don't have to splice the IAT sensor just use the same Intake your currently using and you will be fine. Not manifold...but intake.

My friend did the same swap and he threw code 54....and to this day I can't figure out why. We checked everything like 10 times and everything was fine. Any clues anyone?

Are you going to use ur 00 Si computer? or you gonna use a GSR computer?

oh ok. Thanks for advice. Also when it comes ti wiring it up, what are techniques you guys use to keep the wiring harness away from the engine to prevent it from melting or starting a fire? Are there clips or something that clip the wires to the firewall or chassis of the car? Thanks
