Default What clutch to go with for my k20R EG hatch? Making 220whp and 150tq

Im making those power figures, 220whp and 150tq, and i will be using 23inchx8x13 MH slicks. What clutch is good to take this abuse yet is streetable? Im mainly looking for a good full faced clutch? This is also on a DD that will see some track time at most Once a month. Let me hear your opinions fellas.

I would think something slightly stronger than stock maybe just a upgraded Exedy. My friends around that power with the original clutch still holding fine on 22's.

I had a ACT HD clutch with full face street disc.. I put on 50k miles, and 100+ 1/4 miles runs on slicks at the track and it held up fine without any problems..

Yea im thinking of going with the first stage Clutchmasters, which is full faced, or the Exedy Cerametallic or even the exedy organic clutch, or even the ACT HD-SS thanks for the suggestion of looking at ACT forgot about them.

Has anyone gone with kevlar clutches for an allmotor setup making this much? How is it with slicks? I heard after a couple of hard runs on slicks Kevlar clutches begin to slip. Is this true?

I ran through clutch discs on my car until I started to use the Exedy Single Disc this year. I have been running the same clutch and disc with zero problems. I am exploring different options next year but will stick with the same setup if nothing works out.

we have 2 k20rs running the exedy stage 2 cerametallic sprung hub, 3 puck, engagement is fine for the street. a little chattery but you get used to it. been running it for about 1 year now, last time i pulled the tranny there was alot of meat left too!

That is correct but the difference is in the pressure plate. That is what we were having issues with causing the disc to wear down really quick. Once we got the better pressure plate and disc it worked out really well. I was using the ACT 6-puck and didn't have a lot of luck with it.

LOL im such a *****, i rather not go with any type of pucked clutch for the street. The Chattering is what bothers me.

I really want to go with a kevlar one as it supposedly can last for a long *** time, but i havent really found much on if the rumors true that they glaze over easy if you drag race on weekends.

I heard u have to wait 30mins each run with slicks on a kevlar clutch, so it doesnt glaze over and slip. Does anyone got any experience iwth a kevlar clutch and slicks?

I used a Competition Clutch Stage 4 with the Steel Ultralite flywheel in my K20. It worked perfect. Barely any chatter at all. Check out competitionclutch.com. They have a few different clutches available for the K-series. PM me if you want a good price on one
