Okay, lately the ride in my Type-R has felt really rough/stiff. Maybe it is just in my head. But one thing I know for sure is my CD player skips like crazy now! Over small bumps on the highway, it skips, which never happended before.

Do you think this is just an issue with the CD player? There is nothing that could cause an increase in stiffness of the stock suspension. Shocks don't stiffen with age do they!?

Kind of confused, any help appreciated.

 

I'm betting your CD player itself is the culprit. Get it serviced or clean it yourself.

 

different rims or tires?
how many miles on your car?
stock suspension, right?
how are your shocks?

 

All stock, nothing new. About 45K miles.

 

get one of those lense cleaners for the cd player. it'll fix ur problem.

 

my suspension feels (at least in my head) that it is stiffer in cold weather, or maybe when the weather changes. Maybe this has an affect on it.

 

It is very likely the lens, especially if you are beginning to get the dreaded PE-O error.

Disassembling the unit is a major PITA - I know from experience. Get a lens cleaner kit before you go that route. If you still have no success, buy a third party lens and swap it in there.
