the D16A1 is out of an 86-89 Integra. With the D16A1 pistons and rods in a D16Z6 it gives 12.0:1 compression. I have this setup in my current Z6, and with a stock cam, etc. I end up outrunning MOST B16 hatchbacks.

It is a non-vtec engine. I do not believe that you could perform that head swap. Plus I cannot see any gain by doing so, you would lose compression because the combustion chamber is larger, and actually the Z6 stock for stock makes slightly more power.

I have a D16Z6 with the D16A1 pistons and rods, which gives a Z6 12.04:1 compression. It is a completely stock engine other than that, with basic bolt ons(cheapo header and intake, muffler man special exhaust).
Mated to an SI transmission in my 90 DX hatchback. My buddy has a B16 w/ an LSD trans, and an intake and exhaust. I get him by about 3-4 carlengths every time.
Do a mild port and polish to the head, with a cam and valvesprings. It would make a screamin' SOHC.
