Default Painting urethane parts?

hey guys im really sorry if i post this in the wrong section but i dont have permission yet to post in the 'appearence' section... but i would really like help on this as soon as possible.

i bought a rather expensive urethane bumper for my 2002 honda accord to replace the one that is on it now that is, shall we say, injured.

me and my dad are gonna be the ones installing it, hes done several works of art with body work and painting, but nothing with urethane before. i emailed the makers just to get a 'we supply, not install, so no clue' email back.

i really like it, but i have no idea how to go about painting a urethane bumper. also, i come from a town where 99.99999 percent of the modified cars look like Crap with crummy paint jobs and installation, and i do not want to fall into that category, you know? i know when it comes to external work theres a fine line between beautiful looking and omfg-awful.

but nontheless, is there any help or links or anything i could get as to the procedure of painting a Polyurethane based bumper?

thanks a crapload dudes, and sorry again if this is in the wrong section

-Rob

This will get you started:

URETHANE PARTS PREPARATION, PAINTING INSTRUCTION

SAND edges as necessary.
WASH paintable surfaces with 3M #7447 Scotchbrite pad, TSP and warm water.
SAND the paintable surfaces with 320 wet or dry - at this point the surface should appear to be a dull medium scratched surface.
CLEAN paintable surfaces with either Dupont 2319S or Sherwin Williams #R7K157 pr R7K158 or equivalent.
FILL any slight surface imperfections, if applicable, with "Evercoat" glazing putty and sand smooth.
APPLY Dupont #2322 or Sherwin Williams P6C61 adhesion promoter or equivalent.
APPLY Basecoat/clear coat following the paint manufacturer's recommendations for painting flexible polyurethane plastic.

Note: Some painters prefer, after cleaning the surface, to apply Dupont "Variprime" (or equivalent), let dry and scuff with a Scotchbrite pad and then apply basecoat/clear coat.
