Default 1999 Accord EX 4 DR 2.3 VTEC 4 Cylinder Oil in Coolant`

Can anyone give me an idea on why my car has oil in the coolant but none in the engine coolant in the oil. My coolant reservoir is full of oil but the engine oil is clean. The car still runs fine. Any help would be great. Thanks

What you're dealing with is a transferance of fluids from one pressurized system (oiling @ 55-65psi) to another (cooling @ 18psi). The trick is trying to locate it. The unfortunate part is that the only common point between the two is the engine block/assembly.
There was one thread in here previously which spoke of a similar problem which was determined to be a threaded bore for one of the head bolts which was drilled too deep.

In reality, there are only two areas in which this could happen:
1) Engine Oil / Coolant: .......... Engine Block / Head
2) Trans Fluid / Coolant: ......... Trans Fluid Cooler in Radiator

A coolant system pressure test (of a protracted length) may confirm an internal leak. Addressing it is another matter.

possible head gasket??? But that would put coolant in the oil....

But ask, why not? It's in the same area as the ill-machined threaded head bolt hole. What makes it difficult is that there are no classic symptoms of a blown head gasket. IE:
1) Steam from exhaust
2) Dead Cylinders
3) And the always obligatory Coolant in the Crankcase.

To make matters worst, The traditional Compression and Leak-Down Tests will be inconclusive. We're going to have to rely on a protracted Coolant Pressure Test to tattle on any interior maladies.
