Default Problem..want to make the care faster, but I have a warranty in the way.

Basically, as of right now I own an 06 rsx 5 speed, not the type-s, couldn't afford insurance or even initial payment.

What can I do to the car to increase performance without voiding the warranty?

I really hope that I'm not going to have to go the cosmetic route over the performance route because I like responsive cars....but anyway, help me out if you can.

While I'm at it....are there any set of HID's available for the 06 rsx, or would that void the warranty?

Edit: expletive I meant car not care lol

you can do anything without voiding the warranty.. Just do it right..-choose the right part (parts from reputable manufacturers don't go cheap with ebay ****), and get it installed by someone who knows what they're doing.. that way you probably won't run into any problems with your car and thus warranty issues would be least of your worries..
Also, since you're new let me point it out to use the Search feature on this topic or any other you may have concerns in the future.. There is countless threads about voiding Warantty.. Hope this helps, and welcome to Honda-Tech..

Rule #1 of modding cars.
&$*^ the warranty.

You'll find out quickly that Honda doesn't do anything under warranty anyways. They'll be "unable to replicate the problem" and you'll end up buying aftermarket parts to fix their inability to fix the car. I gave up on the dealer after about 15K

From what i have heard aslong as the aftermarket part isn't the reason for the problem it should be ok

magnuson-moss warranty act says unless they can prove that the modification caused the failure, they have to honor your warranty.

haha how i wish that was my only concern...

my parents put like 20 % of my payment towards the car and they feel they still have control over on whether or not i mod my own car, keep in mind i'm 20 haha

Yeah, my parents were pretty strict about me modding my car. As you can see that went out the door.

Personally, I would wait until your warranty is out the door or close to ending. Dealerships in Jersey suck. If you put a CAI on and hydrolock then you have to hope the dealership will cover it. Most won't.

You could go with a SRI, shorty header, and an exhaust. And the dealership won't give you too much trouble. But that wouldn't be worth the gains.

What I would do is stick to looks for now. Drop it first. The 06's have some dope wheels already so go with a set of Tein Basics or Tein SS. Won't **** your parents off too much and will add a lot to the look and handling of your car. Tint it out, get a bodykit, headunit and exhaust are all options.

Make the car look good and then worry about performance if your still interested. Overcoming parents and the dealership is tough. May not be worth the trouble. Good luck.

Intake, header, and exhaust should do you well. But I would get Hondata ECU reflash, biggest bang for the buck for the RSX.

This is just my opinion, and normally I hate when people post how I'm about to, so ignore me if you want.

Buy a car that you can comfortably mod instead of modding the RSX. Keep the RSX stock, and buy older Civic or something as your project. When the RSX is paid off/out of warranty/worn out its welcome, then sell the civic and move whatever parts you can over to the RSX.

Also, intake, exhaust, suspension, tires, brakes, and stuff like that shouldn't void the important warrantys.

There are a lot of potholes where I live so I'm almost scared to get a bodykit or drop it.

Tints are definately going to be done I think possibly even this weekend (I'll post pics if I do)

As far as SRI goes...do you guys have any suggestionS? And lastly, would putting a SRI make my almost noiseless RSX really loud or modestly loud?
