Default Prelude injectors swap

Somebody tried to swap the Prelude 5th gen. injectors on a itr?

Is it true they are 290cc saturated like the jdm ITR and the usdm and eudm are 240cc?

It is a good upgrade?

Yes people have done this. I currently run them.

Yes they flow 290cc. JDM ITR injectors are 240cc just like USDM and EUDM.

Possibly but it's impossible to tell without knowing what your fuel needs are. They will require fuel tuning. I suggest you try searching the archives for more information.

Thank you very much Eva

I read in the faq they are plug&play.

At the moment I have only the stock ecu modified by Erade ( jdm conversion) and a fuel pressure regulator (max fuel pressure 60 psi).
Could I swap in this condition?

You could, sure, but you might be swapping with a view to the future instead of with a view to actually needing them right now.

Unless your modified ECU is aggressive with the spark advance and fuel delivery, and/or you are looking at tuning the cams, it's possible that you really aren't going to be getting the maximum benefit.

I have those injectors in my car, but I also have a Hondata, slightly raised compression, worked head and other improvements.

That is correct, the 97+ prelude injectors are plug&play. However, based on the information you provided, I still don't have a complete picture on what your fuel needs are. In other words, what engine modifications justify running your fuel pressure at 60 psi? Has your car been tuned on the dyno? More info please.

seriously guys... 240's on a stock motor will see above 90% duty cycle. there isn't much of a reason not to use 290's and go from there.

Is that a complete enough picture?

Yes. Thank you for debunking the apocryphal information.

i'm willing to bet that your car is running severly rich as it is with the stock injectors and that fuel pressure. even on my lightly modded motor, i had to cut the duty cycle back on the JDM ecu heavily to get to the 13.2-13.4 target a/f ratio at wot. i'm running stock 240cc injectors and stock fuel pressure.

Eva & George: I decided to run 60 psi ( it is only a test) for my set up and because the sparks seems to me to be very white in colour, after the swap with the ecu jdm conversion

How do you measure the fuel pressure? Hose disconnected and pinched I suppose.

So in order to run 290cc/min i have to lower the pressure at 43-45 psi?
