17x7 on EF
Got a set of Enkei wheels. They are 17x7 et 42, running 215-40 tires. Will these fit without rubbing? I'd check but the nuts don't fit and I need small ones. TIA.
edit: oh yeah, at stock height that is.

They will fit you may have some rubbing issues at full lock. I will warn you that your ride will turn to crap, it will be rough and it will find every rut in the road.

I agree, 17's are just too much on a CRX

I felt the same way out the 17's I had on my wife's 96 Coupe... 17's = junk.

my 205/40/17s ride good. so does my friend's 18s. i dont know what brand tires you all are using for 17s. oh yeh no rubbing issues on mine i could probably go 45 series..
my 204/40/17s SUCKED thats why they are gone now. they tend to ruin suspension parts too. also make it handle worse. I had falken azenis on them. they put a lot of wear on your car because of the low pro/stiff sidewalls. 16s arent too bad but look for 15s if you want a nice ride.

I got the 17x7 Tenzo-R Shu 10 with Nitto Neo Gen 205/40/17 on it and it rides pretty rough rubs with i turn lock to lock and i got it lowered to where theres almost to space between the tires and fenders
They'll probably rub some due to the 215 width.
As for the driving aspects, my old CRX never handled better than when it had 205/40/17's. Sure the ride was rough, and it was slower to accelerate, but it gripped like a monkey.

My old 17's. I gotta say my 205-50-15s grip better and rub less. They only rubbed on me when I hit a bump while turning and then fubared the front fender.
It doesn't help that it was supperdumped. I have rubbing at full lock with both setups though, so just don't go full lock.
It could have something to do with the preload setting on my Z-10 kit though, cause it only rubs the front part of the unibody.

Pretty much the same.

like i posted above and also it all depends on offset of rim, tire grip/brand and how low you are. i have front and rear camber kits and da front knuckles up front and when lowered on 17s my car never rubs and i had falkens up front and kuhmos in back and switched them. falkens are less noise and more grip.

if you had new camber unmolested tires and camber kit with good camber your car would handle/feel 10x better and feel safer then 195/60/14s.
never had problems with my 17s and my friend doesnt have problems with his 18s. my 17s with tires weigh less then my 14" rims with tires. i feel my car launches better with 17s but doesnt grip as good in 1st but 2nd++ gears grip. my 14s in 1st 2nd break loose and 3rd slight chirp.

i had 17s on my hatch when it was stock... they fit fine w/out rubbing but they were 205 width. The ride sucked and i traded them for a set of OZ wheels and a set of SI wheels (i won out in that trade) sold the OZ wheels for more than i paid for the 17s and now i am rocking OEM 2000 si wheels... 17s might look nice but if you intend on putting down any power to the wheels you will hate them. btw... rubber is expensive
