250whp DD, All motor. Help
I am looking to hit my goal of 250whp and still be able to drive to/from work (about 50 miles one way). The engine is a B18C (JDM ITR 96 Spec). Currently I have a Spoon 4-2-1 Header, 2 1/4 piping no res or cat, and stock intake tube with aftermarket filter
. I will be ordering TWM ITB's with Crome standalone and using my Stock ITR TPS sensor. I have seen cases of people pulling 250whp out of ITB's alone but I think it would be for my best interest to do some head work. So what would you guys reccomend? Any help would be great
Thanks

It's hard to reach the 250whp mark, and especially on a daily driver. I'm close with my setup, and it has cost me both time and $$$ to get there : https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1426425

alot more than ITBs to get 250whp. why of all the numbers, 250 ? why on a daily driver with the current gas prices ? why testpipe on a daily driver when its bad for emissions, plus the loud exhaust sound and rick of being pulled over on every highway ?
do some research, and i recommend you keep your project reasonable if it will be a daily driver, too many things go wrong as you do "super" mods

that's a lot of hp for the streets. 215 down is good. it takes 5min of idle to drain a gallon off my 250whp / 160tq car. you only hold up to 13 gallons at max. thats 30min of street driving. if money isn't a problem then a 8k motor build up should scare you either. itb isn't the best way to go. buy my air carbon fiber intake manifold. works like a charm.

youve got a hell of a shitty tune if you burn that much gas.

It is better to shoot for performance goals than hp numbers. Remember most of us build cars for enjoyment, not for a number on some piece of paper.
Tell us what this motor will be used for and what you want to get out of it. 250whp may not be what gets you to that goal.

yeah thats gonna be pushin it on pump gas. Not saying its not possible,
(but almost)...
A fully built K series hybrid may be your best bet $

well everyone covered the trashing on the 250whp with itb's...i think i'll help with a lil insight to what this guy may want or need to get...get rid of spoon header and get something better...2.5 exhaust all the way out or just half way since you don't have emmisions and u got cool cops. get bigger injectors...chrone is not a stand alone so go aem or hondata s300...new setup there is good for itb use...try a crank and head breather kit...may help and port/build on the head as well as get your self some aftermarket pistons and rods...you should not have to go too exreme on the pistons...maybe 12cr and 81.5bore...oh and i would personally take like 15 thousands off the head...and use some junIII's or skunk's.
if done right you should see 250 whp no prob...but with gettin there it's gonna take alot of dough

shitty tune. i guest church automotive must suck to you than. this is a high compression 2.1l motor. its not fully tune but it isn't shitty. just a built block with toda d and 3angle valve job. i guest you never been there before. and that stop light quote is lamo. you gotta start the car once every day or so.

its a 11.1 afr tune and a 3.5k idle. its not my fault your 2.2l cars can't make over 200whp. of course less air = less fuel comsumption

11.1 afr and 3.5k = shitty tune. no wait, no tune....

.....well if the idle is at 3300rpm and 11:1 a/f ratio with toda spec D's, then there is still some partial throttle tuning to be done (imho).
There are people with more agressive non vtec lobes - and even vtec killers, which are able to idle much closer to 800rpm.
I'm sure your car makes good power WOT though!

But the non VTEC lobes are the same as on the Toda C's? My engine idles at a steady 1000 with those cams, and I'm running on an A/F ratio of around 14:1 on low load/partial throttle, and between 13.5 and 13 at WOT. Fuel economy is not too bad IMHO.
