my friend has a 98 accord automatic 4 cylinder and we where driving on the highway, out of nowhere it started to rev up,
doesn't go past 2nd.. something it will go to 3rd gear but then quickly go back down to second

1. someone said the VSS might be messed up,
2. we flushed out the tranny oil already it was dirty


BTW: do b series autotrannys have the same VSS as accord

 

Any other hints; like either the "Check Engine" or the "D4" lamp flashing or staying on. Are you noticing any other symptoms??

there is a check engine light, d4 isn't flashing

also the car runs smoother and doesn't jerk as much if you just put it on d2 and drive it like that..
