After cleaning the motor car runs like crap, HELP PLZ!
I clean my engine last Friday. I covered the distributor and intake. I then sprayed my car with degreaser and then took my hose to rinse it off. After everything dried out I cranked the car on and drove off. Everything seemed fine until I try to accelerate on to a major road. I went up to like 3000rpm and it started to bog out. It felt like it was misfiring or something. I took the distributor cap of and blew air in there in case I wet it on accident. Still the car is running like crap.
Everything was running great before I clean the motor. Do you know of any other reason why my car is running like this?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Daniel

yes, I did that last night and still does not run good. The thing is that while the car is on no load it idles good, when there is load is just sounds and feels like it is misfiring.
I am going to try to change out the sprark plugs and wires to see if that will fix it. You think that is a good idea?
Thanks!

Well, we had the same prob in our shop F150. Had the truck detailed and engine steam cleaned. It idled fine but under a load, stuttered and skipped. No water found anywhere. It ended up being moisture inside the distributor, you couldn't see it. It took about a month for it to dry out, it runs fine now.

Yeah, typically the most common things w/ our cars are the dizzy cap, and rotor, plugs, and wires.....often times there can be problems with the coil....but if you've eliminated everything else move on to dizzy parts.
Last thing to check is make sure all the connections are tight and no water go into them. like TPS, MAP, Resistor box, or fuel injectors. If you used a high power steam cleaner or even a hose, water could of gotten into one of those too.
