Tack welding the studs ensures that won't come loose and make it difficult to remove a lug nut. Skunk2 studs are notorious for this.

loctite is a thread locker, your studs do not thread in.
i havnt got to try any welding yet, my friend with a tig is hard to schedule stuff with. mig just doesnt want to stick and skunk2 has horrible customer reponse thru email.

all of them technically. My friend got a new mig that is bad ***, im hoping it will do the job, the one we tried first crapped out the other day, it wouldnt get hot enough we think.
We will see i guess. These studs wiggling is really annoying when you are putting on the wheels and removing.

Have you guys heard of these so called stories of the studs breaking easily? I'm just curious if this is a bad rumor, user error due to improper installation, or just a far and few in between anamoly? I keep hearing people knock the skunk2 and praise the Arp versions. Any insight people?
i would assume that the breaking problem is coming from user error, like guys who have never heard of a torque stick or like to do things like stand on a 4way lug wrench when tightening and loosening their wheels. lots of people like to knock sk2 for some reason, who knows? ARP is top notch when it comes to bolts though, i bought s2's cuz i got a good package deal on studs and lugs. yet to be installed.
and as for the tacking thing, mig should work as both parts are steel. if its not "sticking" then you are most likely not getting enough penetration, most guys have this problem
. use a better welder on a good electrical source, pref. not 110v turn the heat up and wire speed down and burn that ***** in there!!!
