More than that 1/2" I can tell you that. They have been known to rip front bumpers off like they were a piece of paper. They will grow more depending on how much air pressure you run in them from square one. To give you somewhat of an idea, top fuel dragsters that run 17x33 slicks usually run like 6psi. Going down the track they expand up to 6 feet tall. That is about 39" of growth.

I think it depends on the rim most.. if you have a rim that is 7 inchs wide and a tire that is 9 inchs wide..thats 2 inch's that will "grow" right there but lose contact patch aswell..

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Ls1 FD3s &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">25" slick on 13" lensos. How much growth do you guys think they can see at 130+ mph traps? Think they can become 25.5" diameter at those speeds? Anyone have any experience in this field?

Reason i ask is becuase i have a ITR trans on a 25" slick redlining at 9400. on the gear/speed calculator, 9400 redline in 4th on 25.0 dia slicks, top speed is 143mph. RISKY given my setup/power, i dont wanna shift into 5th. A 25.5" tire (assuming .5 for growth gives me 146 MPH at 9400, 25.9 gives almost 149 (assuming .9 for growth)

I dont want to use 26" slicks due to the notorious drivetrain breakings they do. </TD></TR></TABLE>

WOOOOOOOOOOW When you racers find out how PLEASE let me know. This is a GOOOOOOOOD ? LOL

To many factors involed on how to determined the growth of a tire.

Here is what you have.

Section Width.

Tread Width.

Circumference.

Car Weight.

RPM.

MPH.

Rim/Wh Sizes.

Car set up.

F.D. in Tranny.

How Cold or Hot the day was.

Air Pressure.

Depends on how the tire was built.

This is just on one car only.

Add air to the 26" tall slick and get the slick spinning and you will be find.

Good Luck.
