Default Valve Adjustment

Alright so I just bought this new civic, I know it needs a new timing belt which I have and will put on soon, but it started making a ticking noise. I believe its just a valve adjustment that needs to be done since I have done some reasearch on the forum, but my question is how long can I drive it until I absolutly need to change it? And what are the tq specs if any at all on a D16Y8?

if you already have the new belt i wouldnt wait to put it on... theres really no way to tell when a belt will snap... usually it just happens all of a sudden, so why wait for this to happen
