help! leaking fluid?...dont know what it is
alright, you guys seem to sound like you know what your talking about. im about to loose my mind on this one....I have a 1990 honda prelude that i have done a lot of work on. i noticed a small(2 inch puddle) under my car anytime i look....i see it dripping off the trasmission, but i dont think its trans. fluid... it is a new(used)engine that runs great....no transmission problems at all(yet)....
when i put some fluid on my finger i notice that it is very thin and light light brown, almost even light yellow..... the oil on the dipstick is much darker(changed it 1200 miles ago)....
it doesnt really smell too strong either.... as far as i know tranny fluid is red. i can only assume its power steering, but i dont know where it would leak( in the center front end, closer to the front of the car under the engine).... however, i am low on power steering fluid almost every few days... the honda fluid i use to fill it is clear, but the color of the leaked fluid could have been clear and turn a little yellow after going through the car maybe???? if there is anyone who can help me you will be my hero.... i have spent so much money on this car over the years and cant afford a new one for a while, so im stuck with it.... but it is still my baby...

you could try professionally steaming your engine and then trace the leak
btw ps fluid is sometimes dark, also tranny fluid isn't always red so i mean you might want to look at those
have you changed any camshaft seals lately? those are common places oil leaks out of, but you say its not oil, just trying to cover the bases

If the leak is more in the vicinity of the firewall, the leak may be from your Steering Rack or one of the related hoses. If it's more to the left front of the motor, Power Steering Pump or related hoses.
