i recently searched, but found nothing in regards to my question.
its about that time for a new susension set-up, but im torn between buying a strut and spring combo to piece together myself or just buying a complete coilover and calling it a day. i was thinking of purchasing a set of omni power coilovers, but i would like to hear some feedback from you who have ridden on them. my budget is roughly around 700, but thats pushing it. i would only spend 700 for these coilovers if i decide to go with them. no more than that though. with that in mind.....
--how do they compare to koni/KYB AGX/ground control adjustable springs/eibach springs? are they stiffer?
--would you recommend these coilovers over any suspension combonation?
--are they worth the price?
--should i just go with buying a shock and adjustable spring separately?
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

what are your plans for the car, street, drag, autox?
omnis are good for street use, i have the street version with zeal/swift springs.

There are tons of posts about onmi on the suspension forum.

They don't compatre at all to Koni/Ground Control. Koni makes some of the best shocks, ground control makes a great set of perches specifically to fit Koni shocks and they use some of the best springs available (Eibach ERS).
Are they stiffer? Well with ground control you choose what spring rates you want. So they can be stiffer or softer than Omni. The best part about that setup is that the Konis are adjustable so the damping is good for a wide range of rates.
The AGX's are pretty good, but they don't have the range of adjustment that Koni has. If I were going to run AGX's I wouldn't go too low, and I would go with the standard GC spring rates, and not much higher.

I wouldn't. If you're dead set on "full coilovers" there are other options to look into. They're not bad for a street car, but I'd rather run the Koni GC setup. You may want to look into PIC Performance too. It seems that they're taking a better approach to providing less expensive complete coilovers.

That's debatable, you get what you pay for.

Honestly, if you're on a budget I would get the best shocks you can afford, then get some regular springs. I ran Koni Sports (yellows) with Eibach pro-kit springs for a while and I really liked it. They rode almost like stock, looked nice, and with the adjustable konis I could stiffen them up nicely. I tracked my car 4 times on that setup and everyone who drove or rode in the car was surprised at how neutral the car felt. Once you have a set of Konis you can later upgrade to Ground Control and already have the shocks to handle them. Koni has a Lifetime warrenty and some of the best customer service in the industry.
OK, I'll step off my Koni podium for a second (sorta). You could also check out the deal on H&R's Cup Kit. They run koni shocks and a set of H&R spring. It's within your budget, and is a really nice setup for the street.

What would you personally prefer for the street nononse, Omni sports or tein ss. I seen a good deal on password jdm for the Omni sports with LCAs and i heard the new omnis have an adj. shock. My only gripe with them are that i have heard the spring rates are a little stiff for the street. The ss seem like a good mild street coil but are a little $$$ compared to the omni's.

yes Omni has come out with the adjustable ones for not much more than the regular coilovers.
many people like them and some dont, all those who have purchased from me have not complained yet. the messup with the collars awhile back deterred a lot of people from using his products, but he fixed it, and they wont break now.
i think the coilovers are a good suspension for a street driver at a good price myself.
ill be switching to them when spring rolls around im sure.

I feel that they must ride a little rough on the street with the spring rates they use. Especially if your on a 205/40 tire. I've also heard that upper pillow ball mounts usually tend to make more road noise.
