I second that...hopefully in the future our new breed of speed will be able to overcome those domestic monsters

Speed Scene was there shooting video. Got a great interview with the titan team, and race footage of all the cars. Will be on an upcoming show soon.

As far as the sport compact versus the domestic thing, I like the cars competing and crossing over. I think it's all drag racing and it's time to drop the labels.
The car that won the bracket class at Pomona was driven by Debbie Pierce. It also competed in the NHRA Divisional race at Vegas with all the domestics in the stock class. It won there too! A perfect example of a car that can race it all.
The Street Car Supernationals and the Pacific Street Car events are great events and they welcome sport compacts as well. Three diferent bracket classes. They are an untapped place to bring your sport compact car and race. I'm glad to see these high profile teams blaze a trail that will be hopefully followed by lots of other sport compacts.

all those people you listed run at national events that have major sponsorship and national tv coverage... the scsn/psca had none of that, so i don't think that you can call it "mainstream"... if anything, turbos and nitrous are about as anti-nhra-mainstream-v8 as you can get.
what you could have remarked on was how those mainstream sport compact racers were drawn to come all the way out here to run a local, non-points series, inaugural event put on by the same crew that runs the local psca series... what can the sport compact sanctions learn from that?
congrats to those sc guys in vegas, but also props to kris lauffer of vw paradise, who ran his vw bug street car to a 9.29 @ 134.32 at the scsn, coasting across the line with the tips burnt off the plugs

That's funny -
I've wanted to run PSCA events, but ya know... Didn't want to bring a 10 second car to a 8 second fight....
But brackets are okay...
Maybe next year.
