Does anyone know how to attach a Gathers CD player to the stock cassette unit? It is going into a 1992 Accord. I know there is the 8 or 9 pin that goes to the back of the cassette player, but I am trying to find the attachement piece inside the car to power the unit. It's the white connector that supposedly there is a piece near the radio that connects to the cd player.

If the Gathers' CD Player that you relate is a remote changer, your stock radio (If OEM Honda) may not have the wiring provisions to control it. Traditionally, radios for that vintage car didn't have those options. It required buying a Kenwood, Alpine etc. radio head which had the controls for the remote changer.

If what you're asking is about the unit shown in the link provided, it looks to be no more than an everyday DIN Chassis Radio/CD head.
You may have to purchase an adapter from Best Buy for that year car

Well I changed the radio to a 96-97 Accord tape player so it has the ability to control a CD player. The person that i bought it from told me the person who he bought it from had it in his 91 Accord Coupe. He also showed me the harness that was in his car that would connect to the cd player. For some reason it would power on, but would not connect to the tape player that he had in his car. It is a Gathers unit made by Kenwood.

 

This is going to get messy.... two prior owners. Any chance of a "Gathers" web site?
Either you'll luck out and find a Professional Installer lurking in here with an answer, you'll find your answer in an Auto Audio Forum or you'll end up at Angry Andy's Audio Emporium where they'll have your answer.
