What pistons do I have?
I recently bought some pistons off of a guy for a VERY reasonable price. They are B16 pistons, by SRP and on the underside they have "20" stamped on them. That's all, so what I'm wondering is what compression they are and are they the stock bore. I could easily guess they are .020 over bore, but that wouldn't tell me anything about compression. They are higher domes than stock, with slightly smaller valve reliefs so I would naturally assume they are high compression...but how high?! The goal for the engine is 180-190 whp on a B16. Right now I have a perfectly stock B16A block, a block-guarded B16A2 and a knife-edge and balance B16 crank. ANY tips are highly appreciated.
The dome SRP's are listed as 10.5:1 with an uncut (42.7cc) head. The dome is 5.7cc.It will take more than just these pistons to make anywhere near 180 whp.

Obviously it will take more than 10.5:1 to come up with any real power! I was thinking they would be higher, I look kinda stupid now. I was planning on purchasing a bare head, having the machinist go nuts and using a Buddy Club Stage IV head package, but I would think these pistons are too low comp. to utilize that radical of a head. I guess I could punk out and go FI with these with decent results?
the only set of stock pistons I have right now for this engine have the ring lands blown off of them... I'm at the extremely early stages of a B16 build and I'm really trying to decide which route to go on this thing. I like the idea of All-Motor, just because it's what I'm familiar (relatively) with. I'm not against F/I in any way, but I know the guys in All-Motor have the knowledge of squeezing every last drop of horsepower from an engine, so it'd be a good place to start. Like in the original post, ANY tips appreciated!
