Low top speed

Default Low top speed

My 89 HB
has a D15B2 with a 92 5-speed trans
it has alot of miles on the engine

it stops at 95 mph at 3200rpm
it just seems like it runs out of power
any ideas
help???

I am going to vote drag limited. My 2001 sunfire cannot physically go past 103, just because its such a piece of ****. D15b2 only has 90 hp (I think) plus the long gears, after 90 mph in low horsepower cars it's hard to get going much faster at any decent rate.

Reason I say that is because I believe top speed limiter on our cars is 127.

i was able to get my shitty *** HF motor with over 200,000 miles on it to 103, i would have figured the b2 would be faster than that. guess not, lol

i got my d15b2 dpfi hatch to go 110 from NY to Chas. SC. 12 hour trip!
